Bobrow Brothers, LLC http://bobrowbrothers.com "not working for the man since 2008" Mon, 08 Jan 2018 07:00:37 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.9.1 Building more websites… http://bobrowbrothers.com/uncategorized/building-canvas-print-website/ Mon, 02 Oct 2017 03:41:11 +0000 http://bobrowbrothers.com/?p=326 Been spending time recently building a new website for the Canvas Brothers. It has been down for the better part of two months and we were in dire need of an online presence to sell our canvas and photo print work. I think it was pretty quick and easy to make this Bobrow Brothers site, so I decided to try it for the canvas site too.

I’m still learning the WordPress platform, but so far I like what I see. It’s relatively intuitive to make changes and there are many templates to choose from. I’ve tried some of the other site builders like “Wix” that seem to be a little more geared toward large graphics and “portfolio” type content but the WYSIWYG interface doesn’t do it for me when you cross browsers. It would look fine in Firefox but be all different in Safari. Although WordPress is geared towards Blog posting and “wordy” content, I think I prefer it for the number of tools and free templates they offer. I’m sure I’ll change my mind soon enough 😛

Another New Website http://bobrowbrothers.com/bobrow-brothers-blog/another-new-website/ Tue, 19 Sep 2017 08:51:36 +0000 http://bobrowbrothers.com/?p=301 We have been operating as Bobrow Brothers, LLC since 2008.  In that time I can’t even count how many websites we’ve gone through.  We’ve gone from simple HTML sites that we wrote ourselves to huge bloated expensive sites with so many needless tools that they could run the world if they wanted to.  We are ready to try a new incarnation of a WordPress site for this go-around on the corporate site. I am not even trying to hide the fact that it’s a free template 🙂 I’ve wasted so much time over the years trying to have the perfect corporate image… I’m ready for something easy and usable.  So here you have it, the all new Bobrowbrothers.com. I really would like for this page to serve as a conduit to our online businesses as well as some background and information about our partnership.  I will likely not be updating this page very often so please get in touch through email or telephone if you have specifics inquiries or concerns (don’t spam me…. I will wish very bad things to happen to your food when you’re not looking).

I will be spending the next several days and weeks creating new simple websites (probably more WordPress) for some of our other online properties.  We have had many web addresses that we’ve planned on making into business but our lack of time and effort has kept them on the ground floor.  My main concern right now is to get a plan in place for CanvasBrothers.com.  It has been down for a couple months and it’s just an embarrassment at this point.  We are still very much in business and are always taking new orders.  Fortunately, we have a great word-of-mouth campaign working so not having the website up has not been a death sentence.  We are also still making a variety of prints for a few different artists that sell primarily on Etsy and I would like to have a space on that website to acknowledge these artists.  Hopefully if I can create an attractive page we can acquire more artists that can use Canvas Brothers drop ship capabilities.

I will also soon be working on my personal website markbobrow.com.  It has also been down for several months. I plan that it will primarily be an online portfolio for some of my artwork, music and musings.

With luck these sites will be up and running very soon and Brian and I can move on to some other fun things…like build a mountain of cupholders for the winter 🙂
